Terms of Use
Welcome to Sensei. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the website at sensei.nyc and any related services (collectively, "Sensei" or the "Service"). By using Sensei, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Sensei is operated by Sensei US, LLC ("we," "us," or "our").
1. You must be 21 or older
Sensei is intended solely for adults 21 years of age or older located in jurisdictions where adult-use cannabis is legal. By using Sensei, you represent and warrant that you are at least 21 years old. We may require age confirmation before you access certain content. If you do not meet this requirement, do not use Sensei.
2. Sensei is a directory, not a seller
Sensei is an informational directory of licensed cannabis dispensaries and products in New York. Sensei does not sell, offer to sell, deliver, or facilitate the sale of cannabis or any cannabis product. All transactions occur solely between you and the licensed dispensary you choose. We are not a party to any such transaction. We do not take orders, process payments, hold inventory, or arrange delivery.
Sensei is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the New York Office of Cannabis Management or any dispensary unless expressly stated.
3. Menu data and pricing
Menus, prices, product descriptions, inventory status, and dispensary information are aggregated from third-party sources, including dispensary online menu providers, and are provided for convenience only. We make no warranty that this information is accurate, complete, current, or free of error. Prices and availability change constantly; the only authoritative source is the dispensary itself. Always confirm product details, legality, potency, and price directly with the dispensary before purchasing.
4. Sponsored content and brand placements
Some content on Sensei is paid for by licensed cannabis brands. Sponsored content, featured brand placements, and promoted products are identified as such. Sponsored placement does not constitute an endorsement or recommendation by Sensei, and does not alter the obligations of the dispensary or brand under applicable law.
5. No medical, legal, or safety advice
Nothing on Sensei is medical, legal, safety, or professional advice. Cannabis affects people differently and may interact with medications or medical conditions. Consult a qualified professional before using cannabis, particularly if you are pregnant, nursing, taking medication, or managing a medical condition. Do not drive or operate heavy machinery while impaired.
6. Permitted use
You may use Sensei for personal, non-commercial informational purposes only. You agree not to:
- Use Sensei if you are under 21
- Use Sensei to purchase cannabis for resale or distribution
- Scrape, crawl, mirror, or systematically copy any part of Sensei except as permitted by our robots.txt
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or interfere with the Service or its infrastructure
- Introduce viruses, malware, or other harmful code
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Use Sensei in any way that violates applicable law, including New York cannabis regulations
7. Intellectual property
Sensei, including its name, design, text, graphics, logos, and software, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. Third-party trademarks, product names, and brand marks displayed on Sensei belong to their respective owners and are used for identification only.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, publish, or create derivative works from any part of Sensei without our prior written permission, except as expressly allowed by these Terms.
8. User submissions
If you submit an email address to our mailing list or send us a message, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use that submission in connection with operating and improving Sensei. You represent that any submission is yours to provide. We may remove any submission at any time without notice.
9. Third-party links
Sensei links to dispensary websites and other third-party resources. We do not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for any third-party content, products, or services. Your use of any third-party site is governed by that site's own terms and policies.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
Sensei is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We disclaim all warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and uninterrupted availability. We do not warrant that Sensei will meet your requirements, that defects will be corrected, or that the Service is free of viruses or other harmful components.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event shall we, our affiliates, or our licensors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of Sensei, whether based in contract, tort, statute, or otherwise, and whether or not we were advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total cumulative liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to Sensei shall not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars ($100). Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages; in those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the extent permitted by law.
12. Changes to the Service and these Terms
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of Sensei at any time without notice. We may revise these Terms at any time by posting an updated version at sensei.nyc/terms. Your continued use of Sensei after a revision becomes effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or Sensei shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of those courts.
14. Severability and entire agreement
If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect. These Terms are the entire agreement between you and us regarding your use of Sensei and supersede all prior agreements on the subject.
