This Privacy Policy explains how Sensei ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit sensei.nyc. Sensei is operated by Sensei US, LLC.

Sensei is intended only for adults 21 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21.

1. What we collect

You give us very little, and we collect very little.

• Email address, if you join our mailing list. That's the only personal information you actively submit.
• Messages, if you email hello@sensei.nyc.
• Device and usage data, collected automatically when you visit the site: IP address (truncated), browser type, device type, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed, time on page, and general location derived from IP (city or region).
• Cookies and similar technologies. We use a small number of cookies to remember whether you have confirmed you are 21, to keep the site working, and to measure traffic. We do not use cookies for cross-site advertising.

2. What we do not collect

• We do not collect your purchases, orders, transactions, or payment information. All transactions occur on the dispensary's own platform, not on Sensei.
• We do not collect your name, address, phone number, date of birth, or government ID.
• We do not sell personal information.
• We do not share personal information with advertisers for cross-site tracking.

3. How we use information

• To operate and maintain Sensei.
• To send you our mailing list, if you joined it. You can unsubscribe from any mailing-list email.
• To respond to messages you send us.
• To measure which pages, dispensaries, brands, and products visitors find useful, so we can improve the Service.
• To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms.
• To comply with legal obligations.

4. Who we share information with

We share limited information with service providers that help us run Sensei. Each is bound by its own terms of service and privacy policy:

• Supabase — database and backend hosting.
• Vercel — website hosting and content delivery.
• PostHog — product analytics (pageviews, events, aggregate traffic).
• Resend — transactional and mailing-list email delivery.
• Zoho Mail — email hosting for hello@sensei.nyc.
• Google Search Console — search performance measurement.

We also display information aggregated from third-party sources, including dispensary online menu providers. We do not share your personal information with dispensaries or brands featured on the site.

We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, court order, or other valid legal process, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

If Sensei is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you by posting a notice on the site.

5. Analytics and cookies

We use PostHog to measure traffic and understand how visitors use Sensei. PostHog receives the device and usage data described above and associates it with a randomly generated identifier stored in a cookie. We configure PostHog to not collect your IP address in full and to not share your data with third parties for advertising.

You can disable cookies in your browser. If you do, parts of the site may not work properly, including the 21+ age confirmation, which will reappear on every visit.

We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals and Do Not Track signals where supported.

6. Your choices

• Mailing list. Unsubscribe at the bottom of any mailing-list email, or email hello@sensei.nyc.
• Access, correction, deletion. You may ask us what we hold about you, correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@sensei.nyc with your request. We may need to verify your identity before acting.
• Cookies. Clear or block cookies in your browser settings.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your local law (for example, under the California Consumer Privacy Act, the Colorado Privacy Act, or similar laws). We will honor those rights where they apply.

7. Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed to operate Sensei and for the purposes described above. Mailing-list emails are kept until you unsubscribe. Aggregate analytics data is kept for up to 24 months. We may retain information longer if required by law.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect information, including HTTPS everywhere, access controls on our backend, and encrypted storage. No system is perfectly secure. You use Sensei at your own risk.

9. Children

Sensei is not directed to anyone under 21. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 21. If you believe we have, email hello@sensei.nyc and we will delete it.

10. International visitors

Sensei is operated from the United States. If you visit from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data-protection laws than your country.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it was last changed. If we make material changes, we will post a notice on the site.
